The youthful lawmaker urged the veteran politician to take the decisive step and reclaim his place at the helm of Kenya’s opposition.

In the impassioned letter shared on Friday, July 11, Amisi painted a bleak picture of the country under Ruto’s leadership.

Amisi stated that the political deal struck between Raila and the president had left many ODM loyalists abandoned in a hostile political landscape.

"Baba Huku nje ni kubaya. Your guy Ruto has caused more harm beyond recognition, and he does not know the magnitude, nor do his proud, arrogant, close allies wallowing in the miasma of stolen money know," Amisi warned, pleading with Raila to withdraw from the partnership.

In a direct challenge to Raila, Amisi argued that dialogue with Ruto was a dead end, stating that national healing could only happen if it was led by statesmen, a category he insisted Ruto does not fit.

Amisi urged Raila to instruct the remaining ODM-affiliated leaders in government to resign, and instead help rebuild a strong opposition movement to remove Ruto from office.

"The best way to hold intergenerational dialogue is to remove the remaining, adamant, excited ODM brigade from the government and join us to remove Kasongo. You owe nobody anything, and Kenyans have your history, but this shall be the best legacy in your history book. You have shaken many hands, but this one is the last straw that will break the nation called Kenya," Amisi wrote.

The outspoken lawmaker, known for his firm stance within the ODM ranks, said the so-called broad-based government was a betrayal of the party’s founding ideals.

He claimed it had weakened the opposition’s moral authority and left grassroots defenders of democracy like him exposed and under threat.

Amisi, while reaffirming his respect for Raila’s historical contribution to Kenya’s democratic journey, said the former prime minister had lost his way by aligning with leaders who were complicit in deepening the country’s suffering.

The MP claimed he had been living under constant threats from unnamed powerful figures, but vowed not to back down.

"I have been lonely in the trenches, where you guys left me, I have been shooting in the wilderness aimlessly and all over to scare the approaching enemies and sometimes shooting you in the foot.
You are either praising them or you are put on a list to be eliminated. I have been living under constant threats by the high and mighty but I am a kijana power, the courageous biblical Caleb who ensured the voyage of the people of Israel to Canaan, when everybody else thought it was a mission impossible," he declared.
