The blogger was murdered at Central Police Station hours after he was arrested in Homa Bay, for he allegedly tarnished the name of Deputy Inspector General of Kenya Police Eliud Lagat on social media.

Owang's death caused a lot of uproar, with Kenyans demanding action against all officers involved in his killing.

Many politicians were saddened by the blogger's death, with some offering goodies as a way of consoling the family.

However, in his condolence message, Amisi cautioned Meshack Ojwang, father of the deceased, to engage politicians with caution.

According to the lawmaker, a majority of the politicians, especially from the government side, only want to use their condolences to calm the rage among Kenyans.

"To Albert Ojwang's father, first, I offer my condolences on the loss once again. Second, avoid engaging in political machinations, political vultures, and state-sponsored narratives aimed at calming Kenyans' rage," Amisi said.

The ODM lawmaker asked the grieving father to concentrate on mourning his son and not be swayed by the money and promises from politicians.

"No amount of money, promises, jobs, houses, wives, and other lies can return your son to this world. You loved you son. Mourn him and keep off the media and politicians, do this for the respect of your son. God shall provide the rest. He never leaves his people, I can assure you of this," the Saboti MP said.

Kenyans online are divided after President William Ruto gave KSh 2 million to the grieving father of Albert Ojwang.

Governor Johnson Sakaja vowed to employ Ojwang’s wife after she graduates and to build her rentals.

Homa Bay governor Gladys Wanga on Monday, June 16, announced that she will be financing the construction of a house for the family.

Earlier, Meshack confirmed that President William Ruto and former prime minister Raila Odinga personally called to condole with him.

Speaking in Homa Bay on Monday, June 16, he said the head of state and Raila called him on his mobile phone following the death of his son in police custody.

Several politicians, led by Governor Gladys Wanga, visited Meshack's rural home to console the family

The governor disclosed that President Ruto had channelled his KSh 2 million support to the family in addition to his condolences, personally delivered via a phone call.
