Oasis Reunion Chaos: New Album, Tour Line-Up & Backstage Drama!

The highly anticipated Oasis reunion tour is set to bring the iconic band back to stages across the globe, with bassist Andy Bell confirming his involvement. Bell, who previously played with Oasis from 1999 to 2009 and later with Liam Gallagher’s post-Oasis project Beady Eye, expressed his excitement in a new interview with Austrian newspaper Oe24, stating, “I’m in and I’m really looking forward to it. We’ll see each other on tour. Or rather, you’ll see me. I’ll hardly be able to see you in the audience.” He is expected to be joined by fellow Beady Eye bandmate Gem Archer, guitarist Paul ‘Bonehead’ Arthurs, and drummer Joey Waronker for the live performances, all of whom played on his recent solo album Pinball Wanderer.

The extensive tour schedule includes 41 dates booked for 2025, commencing in July with stadium shows across the UK and Ireland before extending to multiple continents. Notable support acts have been announced, including Cast, Richard Ashcroft, Cage The Elephant, and Ball Park Music. The band, fronted by brothers Noel and Liam Gallagher, recently played three sold-out shows at the Scottish Gas Murrayfield Stadium on August 8, 9, and 12, with a staggering 10 million people from over 100 countries attempting to secure tickets in record time.

Despite the immense excitement, Oasis manager Alec McKinlay has tempered expectations regarding new material and additional tour dates. McKinlay, also a director at Ignition and Big Brother Recordings, explicitly confirmed there are “no plans for any new music” and described the current run as “very much the last time around,” indicating a final opportunity for fans to see the band. He revealed the extensive planning and secrecy involved in orchestrating the comeback, noting that the group of people who knew in advance was very limited and that the public reaction when it went live was “just phenomenal.” This statement puts to rest earlier rumors fueled by Liam Gallagher’s social media posts last year, where he hinted at new music and claimed to be “blown away” by Noel’s new material, only to later fan the flames further on X/Twitter.

The Scottish leg of the tour saw Liam Gallagher engage in his characteristic on-stage banter and controversy. He revealed a ban on throwing his tambourine and maracas into the crowd, a measure imposed after an incident at a Wembley show where two individuals mobbed a female fan for his maracas. During his performances at Murrayfield, Liam openly criticized Edinburgh Council Chiefs, calling them “f****** slags” for leaked documents that allegedly branded Oasis fans as “fat, drunk, and rowdy.” He also took a swipe at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, dismissing it with comments like, “People juggling f*****g bollocks and that? Swallowing swords ...one-legged bicycles. What’s all that s*t about? S****y card tricks,” and claiming the band would bring “two billion pounds” into the city without the Council seeing any of it. A heartwarming moment for a particular fan occurred when Liam dedicated the song “Stand By Me” to Susan Boyle at the final Murrayfield gig, which she acknowledged with gratitude on Instagram, posting a snap of herself in band merchandise.

Backstage anecdotes from the tour have also surfaced. Podcaster Matt Morgan, a friend of Noel Gallagher, recounted his surprise at finding Wagon Wheels in Noel’s private green room chamber, highlighting Noel’s amusingly retro preferences amidst the rock-and-roll atmosphere.

The Oasis reunion has also had a ripple effect across the music industry. Kasabian frontman Serge Pizzorno disclosed that witnessing Oasis’s return, particularly their first night in Cardiff, provided a significant spark to accelerate the recording of Kasabian’s next album, which is now slated for release next year. Pizzorno described the reunion as “surreal and beautiful — and sonically incredible,” emphasizing its inspiring impact on his own creative process. Kasabian, fresh off their seventh successive No. 1 album 'Happenings,' also recently secured a deal for a new version of their track G.O.A.T. to be the new Sky Sports Premier League title song for the 2025/26 season and beyond, collaborating with London-born star Cristale for a reimagined version. Pizzorno also shared a personal reflection on the departure of Leicester City legend Jamie Vardy, noting his significant impact and unique journey.

In other music news, Perrie Edwards announced her new single, “If He Wanted To He Would,” is due in the coming weeks, following her previous Top 10 hit “Forget About Us.” Tom Grennan is set to release his new album, “Everywhere I Went, Led Me To Where I Didn’t Want To Be,” aiming for a third No. 1, facing stiff competition from new releases by Alison Goldfrapp, Conan Gray, and Maroon 5. Singles from Cat Burns (“All This Love”), former Eurovision star Bambie Thug (“Redrum”), and rising Irish singer Moio (“Figure It Out”) have also dropped. Pop disruptor Ashnikko released “Trinkets” from her upcoming album “Smoochies,” while Noughties fans can anticipate a 20th-anniversary edition of Supergrass’s fifth album “Road To Rouen” in October, featuring an unreleased track. Additionally, a new British band called Velour Fog, known for fusing rock, hip-hop, and grunge, is working with producer Nick Tauber, who previously collaborated with Thin Lizzy and Def Leppard, on new music, including their latest tune “The Zone.”

Beyond the music scene, various entertainment and sports updates made headlines. Rumors surrounding Kylie Jenner’s relationship with Timothee Chalamet continue to swirl, but Jenner was observed enjoying a night out with Hailey Bieber and Bella Hadid, seemingly unfazed by the speculation. Comedian Chabuddy G has been appointed as the official PR for England’s Red Roses Women’s Rugby World Cup squad by O2, featuring in a new video to showcase a different side to the team. Newlyweds Charli XCX and George Daniel of The 1975 watched a horror movie, “Heart Eyes,” about a serial killer the night before their wedding, a quirky choice recommended by fans. A biopic honoring the life and career of the late Sinead O’Connor, directed by Josephine Decker, is in development, focusing on her talent and her activism against the Catholic church and the Irish state. Lastly, Metallica’s Robert Trujillo shared a poignant and somewhat humorous anecdote from Ozzy Osbourne’s funeral, suggesting the late Black Sabbath rocker might have been “pranking” attendees from beyond the grave, citing peculiar weather changes and events during the service, which brought both tears and moments of closure.
