NSCDC tasks personnel on service, warns against harassment, intimidation
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has warned personnel against harassment and intimidation of civilians, insisting that their uniforms are representative of service to the nation.
NSCDC Commandant of the Federal Capital Territory, (FCT), Dr. Olusola Odumosu, gave the warning at the passing-out parade (POP) of the third batch of graduates in basic arms and weapons handling, yesterday, in Abuja.
Odumosu told the officers that Nigerians have entrusted the corps with a very sensitive and important mandate therefore, no officer should under any circumstance abuse the trust or misuse riffle.
The Commandant General, Prof. Ahmed Abubakar Audi, explained that the Agro-Rangers unit is a specialised component of the corps responsible for the safety and security of farmlands, crops, herds, farmers and herders. He charged the officers and men to be very professional in carrying out their assigned roles.
In a statement by CSC Babawale Zaid Afolabi, National Public Relations Officer, NSCDC Headquarters Abuja, the CG clarified part of his goodwill message to the occasion.
