1. Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke is on his way out of the Peoples Democratic Party. Adeleke confirmed on Saturday that he was already consulting on his planned dumping of the party. The Director of Defence Media Operations, Maj-Gen. Markus Kangye, disclosed this in a statement in Abuja on Saturday.

Chief of Staff to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Femi Gbajabiamila, has described the coalition of opposition leaders into the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as a welcome development that would prevent Nigeria from sliding into one-party system. He stated this shortly after casting his vote at the Lagos state local government election in Surulere on Saturday.
5. Suspected members of the Lakurawa group on Friday evening killed three police officers at Zogirma in Bunza Local Government Area of Kebbi State. According to Kebbi State Police Command’sPublic Relations Officer, CSP Nafiu Abubakar a combined team of Policemen engaged the suspected Lakurawa in a fierce gun duel while attempting to attack commuters plying Zogirma/Tilli road.

Former Lagos State Deputy Governor, Kofoworola Bucknor-Akerele, has called for cancellation of the Saturday council election in the state over alleged irregularities and disenfranchisement of voters. Bucknor-Akerele, who spoke to Nigeria Info, expressed frustration over her inability to vote at her polling unit.
7. The Police Command in Edo State has confirmed the death of a 12-year-old girl during a gunfire exchange between security operatives and fleeing kidnappers along the Fugar-Agenebode road in Etsako East Local Government Area of the state. The command’s Public Relations Officer, CSP Moses Yamu, disclosed this in a statement on Saturday.
8. Justice Olugboyega Ogunfowora of Ogun State High Court, Abeokuta, on Friday sentenced the duo of Mustakeem Balogun and Soliudeen Majekodunmi to death by hanging. At the same time, Lukmon Abdulgafar bagged life imprisonment over the murder of 16-year-old Sofia Okeowo at Kugba area, Abeokuta, on January 28, 2022.
9. The Niger State Police Command has arrested 22 illegal miners after a violent clash that broke out among them. It was gathered that the clash occurred on Thursday around M.I. Wushishi Estate area of Minna. Eyewitnesses said many people sustained injuries in the attack before the arrival of the police.
10. A woman has died after falling into a 170-foot well at a construction site in Ijegun, Lagos. Her body was recovered by the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service after a prolonged multi-agency operation. The agency said it received a distress call around 7:34 pm on June 30, about the incident at Abuba Anthony Street, near Obalagbe Bus Stop, close to Fadeko International Hotel.
