We know there is a lot of content on YouTube, and it can be hard to tell which ones are appropriate for your child. So Parents' editors are picking some of the best videos every week that you can feel good about.

One aspect of summer that parents understand all too well but kids may have trouble grasping is that sometimes you just need to come inside and take a break from the heat. Many kids want to keep playing at the park or in the pool, totally oblivious to the fact that their parents are desperate to sit in front of the AC for a few minutes. Let me help: Just tell them that they can watch CoComelon if they come inside the house.

Of course, we want our kids outside and playing as much as possible during the summer break. But since CoComelon aims to support kids' life skills, including helping them brush their teeth and expanding their vocabulary, it’s a good choice to throw on in those moments where everyone just needs to take a moment to recover from a day of playing.

Every week, the CoComelon Youtube channel drops new videos that teach kids all kinds of important lessons, so that you can feel good about letting them watch TV while you catch your breath. This week is all about naming the colors and helping out at the grocery store.

The go-to treat of the summer isn’t up for debate: It is of course ice cream and ice pops. I think in the summer my daughter would probably eat ice cream with every meal if we let her. In this video, CoComelon celebrates the nearly ubiquitous childhood love of frozen treats in two songs about ice cream cones and popsicles.

In the first, JJ makes ice cream with his parents on a hot day, and learns the recipe along the way. It might even inspire you and your kids to make ice cream together sometime.

In the second song, JJ and his friends decide to make rainbow popsicles. True to its mission as an educational show at its core, viewers get to learn all the colors of the rainbow as their friends on screen assemble the necessary ingredients—and match up a familiar fruit (like strawberries) with each color.

So, the next time you’re serving up breakfast and your toddler knows the names of all the fruits on their plate, don’t be surprised.

Did you know that there are actually benefits to taking your kids grocery shopping? Yup, it might actually be worth finding time for a family outing to the store—and CoComelon totally gets it.

In this twist on the classic “Apples and Bananas" song (the one that goes “I like to eat, eat, eat, apples and bananas”), JJ brings his own list to the grocery store with his mom. Not only are JJ’s drawings of his favorite fruits adorable, but the visuals that accompany the lyrics might help your toddler learn to identify the foods they see at home and at the store.

Looking for a break from screens? You can listen to CoComelon songs on Spotify. There's even more CoComelon to look forward to: In 2027, a feature-length CoComelon movie will hit theaters.
