Nakuru: Mash Poa Passengers Injured, Stranded after Nakuru-Eldoret Accident
The accident involved a Mash Poa Bus and two trucks that leaving one person dead and several injured.
A passenger, Lilian Akinyi, recounted how the incident unfolded, which saw them waiting for another vehicle for hours.
"It was about 5:10 am. There was a truck that had been parked by the roadside. A light-duty truck, Mitsubishi Fuso Canter that was carrying bread, unfortunately, rammed into the parked lorry from behind. The impact sent it onto the main road, which inconvenienced our driver. As he tried to swerve and avoid any more damage, the bus got into a trench. There are several injured people but nothing serious. Our driver and the conductor disappeared from the scene. We do not know where they are. Only one person died instantly, who was from the Canter," she said.
In a video footage, a breakdown truck arrived hours after the accident as it tried to move the damaged Mash Poa Bus.
Passengers sat on the green grass with their luggage, looking disappointed, tired and frustrated as their journey was stalled.
"We were told there was another bus coming from Nairobi, but we are still here. Nothing has happened. We do not know what to do next," she said as she sat on her luggage.

"It's high time we turn to our Creator and ask for forgiveness."
Martin Mwita:
Wreckless driving, especially by buses and truck drivers. They feel they own the roads. Tahmeed Coach LTD, I am not surprised because most of their buses are on high speed and careless overtaking, but for Mash Poa Bus, I am surprised."
Clinton McOwuor
"Kwani leo macaptain wa Port Victoria wananini? Tahmeed limebwagwa Changamwe. Ndio hili sasa Mash pia labwagwa Nakuru. So sad. Dreamline Express LTD are the best."
Killian John:
"These accidents are becoming too much. Something has to be done."
Charles Maingi Mwanza:
"NTSA, time to act on buses being driven dangerously to sacrifice innocent Kenyans.
Dangerous overtaking and night driving for buses should be abolished because they drive carelessly at night, because they know there aren't any traffic officials on the road."
