Mumford & Sons Announce Star-Studded New Album Featuring Gracie Abrams & Hozier!

Mumford & Sons surprised fans with the announcement of their sixth studio album, titled "Prizefighter," slated for release on February 13, 2026. This highly anticipated record, set to arrive via Island Records, features a star-studded list of collaborators, signaling a refreshed creative direction for the band. Among the featured artists are Gracie Abrams, Chris Stapleton, Gigi Perez, and Hozier, with Hozier contributing to the album's storming lead single, "Rubber Band Man," which was released on October 24.

The album marks a significant creative reunion, as Mumford & Sons once again partnered with Aaron Dessner of The National. Dessner, who previously worked on the band's 2015 LP, "Wilder Mind," took on crucial roles as both coproducer and cowriter for "Prizefighter." The creative process unfolded at Dessner’s renowned Long Pond Studio in upstate New York, involving band members Marcus Mumford, Ben Lovett, and Ted Dwane.

Frontman Marcus Mumford expressed profound excitement about the new album and the band's current state. In a press release, he conveyed his belief that Mumford & Sons is "hitting our prime as a creative force," emphasizing their commitment to the project: "We’re putting everything we have into this now, and we’re using everything about our experience so far to embrace exactly who we are." Mumford highlighted the band's newfound comfort and confidence, stating, "We’re comfortable in our skins these days. And Prizefighter is us going for it — serious and playful, sometimes bruised and always hopeful. We’re nowhere near done yet. I hope and believe and we’re in the beginning of something we don’t want to let up on. I’m more excited to be in this band than I’ve ever been."

The album announcement precedes a comprehensive 22-date U.K. and European fall tour for Mumford & Sons. The tour is scheduled to commence on November 6 at Stockholm’s Avicii Arena and will conclude a month later with a two-night engagement at London’s iconic O2 Arena on December 10-11.

"Prizefighter" follows the band’s most recent full-length effort, "Rushmere," which was released on March 28. "Rushmere" was notable as their first album recorded as a three-piece, following the departure of former banjoist and lead guitarist Winston Marshall in 2021. Upon its release, "Rushmere" achieved commercial success, reaching the summit of the Official U.K. Albums Chart and securing the No. 19 position on the Billboard 200. Historically, Mumford & Sons has a strong chart presence, with two previous chart-topping LPs in the U.K. – 2012’s "Babel" and the aforementioned "Wilder Mind." Their 2009 debut, "Sigh No More," and 2018’s "Delta" both peaked at No. 2 in the U.K.

The complete tracklist for "Prizefighter" includes: "Here" (with Chris Stapleton), "Rubber Band Man" (with Hozier), "The Banjo Song," "Run Together," "Conversation With My Son," "Alleycat," "Prizefighter," "Begin Again," "Icarus" (with Gigi Perez), "Stay," "Badlands" (with Gracie Abrams), "Shadow Of A Man," "I’ll Tell You Everything," and "Clover."
