Miracle 'Mounjaro Baby': Woman's IVF Dream Realized After Dramatic Weight Loss with Fat Jabs

A 25‑year‑old beautician from Surrey has shared how she finally became pregnant after losing a significant amount of weight with help from a prescription medication.

Chloe Rose and her husband, Jack, began trying for a baby in 2019 and faced years of disappointment with negative pregnancy tests.

In January 2024, the couple were accepted into an NHS fertility treatment trial, but Chloe was removed when she failed to meet the weight criteria.

That moment made clear that losing weight was essential if she was to continue pursuing fertility treatment.

Despite her commitment, Chloe struggled with weight loss for years, trying diets and exercise routines with limited success.

Her challenges were made more difficult by polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), arthritis and the side effects of steroid medication.

In July 2024, determined to change her health, Chloe began using Mounjaro, a medication originally developed for type 2 diabetes and approved in the UK for weight management.

Within five months, she had lost six stone, dropping from a UK size 20 to a size 10, a transformation she describes as life‑changing.

Weeks after stopping the injections, she and Jack received the news they had dreamed of: Chloe was pregnant.

Doctors were surprised because she had not had a menstrual period in six years due to severe PCOS.

Their daughter, Jeanie, was born on 18 September 2025, weighing 5lbs 1oz.

Chloe believes the weight loss played a major role in her ability to conceive and said Mounjaro helped kickstart the journey, though she cautions it may not have the same effect for everyone.

Weight loss medications can affect metabolic and hormonal factors that influence fertility, but outcomes vary by individual.

The UK’s official guidance on weight loss medications explains how these drugs are integrated into obesity treatment pathways and the criteria for eligibility.

Chloe’s story has drawn attention to how weight loss drugs may influence fertility outcomes while underlining the importance of medical oversight and personalised care.
