Mass brawl erupts in Manchester city centre as group fall onto taxi and car in scenes of chaos

Published 1 week ago3 minute read

A mass brawl erupted in Manchester city centre causing police to rush to the scene on Saturday night (July 5).

A number of men became embroiled in the fight on Deansgate, at the junction with South King Street, and were seen in social media footage throwing punches at one another and body slamming each other forcefully to the ground.

At least six men appeared to be involved, scrapping with one another in scenes of chaos as horrified onlookers and motorists watched on.

Cars were forced to wait at the junction as the group began fighting outside the Cinnabon café, with one man with an open shirt seen throwing punches at a number of other people.

Another man is seen being held to the ground and repeatedly punched before a seventh person intervenes, slamming him onto a car bonnet.

At the same time, two others become embroiled in a separate fight in the road as traffic lines Deansgate. One man falls into a blue taxi, before they continue to fight with one another in front of the trapped car.

Traffic is seen to slow down as motorists watched on the unfolding chaos, with other drivers attempting to steer around the incident.

The cause of the fight is not known, but the incident went on for a number of minutes in front of groups enjoying a night out in the city centre.
