Martin Garrix Unleashes Star-Studded Debut Album Featuring Madonna, U2 & Ed Sheeran
Dutch DJ Martin Garrix is set to release his debut pop album, "MARTY," on March 5, 2027, via STMPD Records/Darkroom Records. Announced during Amsterdam Dance Event, the 14-track project explores themes of growth and features collaborations with major artists like Madonna, Ed Sheeran, and U2. The album title is a personal nod to his first DJ alias, marking a significant milestone in his career.
Award-winning Dutch DJ Martin Garrix, who first rose to prominence over a decade ago with his hit track “Animals,” is set to release his highly anticipated debut pop album, “MARTY.” This 14-track project, which sees Garrix stepping in front of the microphone himself, is scheduled for release on March 5, 2027, under the STMPD Records/Darkroom Records labels. The news was officially confirmed by Garrix during an exclusive Spotify Pop-Up show that marked the beginning of Amsterdam Dance Event on Wednesday, October 21. During this event, he offered top listeners a sneak peek of several forthcoming tracks from the album.
The album’s title, “MARTY,” holds significant personal meaning for the artist, drawing inspiration from his first-ever DJ alias, DJ Marty. It serves as a tribute to both his early slogan, “Party with DJ Marty,” and the fulfillment of the dreams he held as a child. Garrix explained the essence of the album, stating, “Even though I’ve been doing this for most of my life, I still feel like I’m just at the beginning. That’s really what this album is about – growth, moving through different chapters of life, and understanding that the love we give and the energy we put out into the world don’t just disappear when we’re gone. I want to take people with me on that journey and let them experience all those different stages of growth alongside me.”
“MARTY” embarks on a larger narrative beginning with its opener, “Catharina,” a heartfelt tribute to Garrix’s mother, with each subsequent track designed to unfold as a new chapter in his personal story. Known for his prolific career as a DJ and producer under various aliases, Garrix has cultivated an impressive network of top-tier collaborators. The album is slated to feature several of these esteemed artists, including Madonna, U2, Ed Sheeran, and Aitana. Notably, Garrix previously collaborated with Madonna on “Bizarre,” a deep cut from her chart-topping album “Confessions II.” For this new project, he has also shared new collaborations with Ed Sheeran on “Repeat It” and U2 on “Fireflies.” The progressive house track “This Dream of You,” which he debuted earlier this month during the intro to his Tomorrowland headlining set, serves as the album’s latest single.
In support of the new music, Garrix is currently on his Martin Garrix Americas Tour, which recently concluded its first leg. The next phase of the tour is set to commence on October 31 at OMNIA Nightclub in Las Vegas, with subsequent stops across various cities in Central and South America. The extensive tour will culminate with a three-day performance at the Ultra Music Festival in Miami from March 26-28.
Martin Garrix stands as one of the most successful crossover dance acts of his generation. His illustrious career boasts six entries on the Billboard Hot 100, including top 40 hits such as “Animals” (peaking at No. 21) and the Bebe Rexha-assisted “In the Name of Love” (reaching No. 24). Furthermore, he has accumulated a remarkable 32 Dance Airplay entries, featuring No. 1 hits like “Higher Ground” (with John Martin), “Told You So” (with Jex), and “MAD” (with Lauv).
