Director Lokesh Kanagaraj has officially announced that the trailer for his highly anticipated Rajinikanth starrer Coolie will release on August 2, 2025, just weeks ahead of the film’s theatrical debut on August 14. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Lokesh emphasised a minimal marketing approach saying, “I want to deliver one trailer and then the film. More than that, anything will be a giveaway. All I wanted to deliver was one trailer, and the date is August 2.”He described Coolie as a full-fledged commercial entertainer, designed purely for audience enjoyment, signalling a shift from his usual darker, grittier tone.On Aamir Khan's Superhero FilmBeyond 'Coolie', Lokesh Kanagaraj revealed that after completing Kaithi 2, he will collaborate with Aamir Khan on a massive action film intended for a global audience. “It will be a Hindi film but meant for a global audience, not just Indians. He is a lot similar to Kamal sir… For now, I can’t say if it’s a superhero film, but it will be the biggest action movie from my lineup.”The project marks Lokesh’s official foray into Hindi cinema and hints at a scale never before attempted in his previous works.
