LaLiga Shocker! Lewandowski Fuels Speculation on Barcelona Exit

Robert Lewandowski has openly expressed uncertainty regarding his future at Barcelona, indicating he does not yet know "which direction to take" as his contract nears its expiry. The seasoned striker acknowledged that a definitive decision about his continuation in Catalonia beyond the current campaign has not been made, especially after navigating through a challenging start to the season marked by injury issues.

Speaking with Polish journalist Bogdan Rymanowski, Lewandowski provided a frank assessment of his situation, emphasizing both introspection and a measured approach. He stated, "I still have time to make a decision. Right now, I don’t know where I want to play. There’s no need to think about it yet. I don’t know which direction to take, but I don’t have any pressure." He further clarified that discussions with Barcelona's management are not tense but rather distant, and crucially, financial considerations are not the primary factor influencing his decision. Lewandowski explained, "I am not talking to the coach about interested clubs. It’s not about cutting my salary in half. A lot depends on the club’s plan and what I want."

The current season has been particularly demanding for the Poland captain. He endured two separate injury spells early on, which significantly disrupted his rhythm and limited his opportunities to secure a consistent spot in the starting lineup. Lewandowski confessed that these physical hurdles made the initial months especially tough. He noted, "I also had a difficult start to the season. I was injured twice. It was also difficult for me to get in (the line-up), knowing how many games await us in January, February and March until the end. I have in mind that probably in the second part of the season it would be good to prepare physically, not have health problems, just give it my all."

Despite the prevailing uncertainty surrounding his club future, Lewandowski maintains ambitious personal goals. He remains committed to pursuing silverware and international success, even as he recognizes he is in the concluding phase of his illustrious career. "I hope we play these two games in a way that will help us qualify for the World Cup," he shared. "I would like to have it all: to qualify for the World Cup, the Spanish title, the Champions League. I am aware that these are my last years in football."
