Itauma Mauls Whyte: Boxing World Reacts to Shocking Dominance and Career Fallout!

In a night of significant boxing encounters in Saudi Arabia, David Adeleye showcased immense courage despite suffering a points defeat to heavyweight contender Filip Hrgovic, while Moses Itauma delivered a devastating first-round knockout victory over Dillian Whyte, setting the stage for potential future challenges against top-tier opponents.
David Adeleye, the fearless Ladbroke Road boxer, took on the 2016 Olympic bronze medalist Filip Hrgovic. Adeleye started the bout aggressively, landing an overhand right in the first round that should have secured the opener. Hrgovic, known for his relentless body attacks, soon found himself bleeding from his right eye by the second round due to Adeleye's consistent straight jabs. Despite Hrgovic's dangerous plodding style, the Brit skillfully picked him off at range, further aggravating the Croat's wounds. Adeleye even managed to buzz the bloodied giant with a beautiful left hook just before the bell in the third round. However, Hrgovic's experience began to show in later rounds, and despite Adeleye being dropped in the eighth, he bravely bounced back, almost securing a revenge knockdown before the bell. The judges ultimately scored the bout 98-91, 99-90, and 99-90 in favor of Hrgovic, concluding a challenging but proud performance for Adeleye, who emptied his tank.
The main event of the evening saw 20-year-old Moses Itauma produce a dominant performance against former heavyweight title challenger Dillian Whyte. Itauma wasted no time, dazing and then flooring Whyte with a barrage of punches in the opening 90 seconds. The referee swiftly intervened as the 37-year-old struggled to recover against the ropes, handing Itauma his 13th straight professional victory. Matchroom Boxing chief Eddie Hearn later expressed his sorrow for Dillian Whyte, stating that Whyte, at this stage of his career,
