Sportinvest Trapani Sharks (Serie A) added 29-year-old point guard Alessandro Cappelletti (186cm-82kg-1995) to their roster for the new 2025-26 season. He has played for the last two years at Dinamo BDS Sassari in the Serie A. He managed to play in three leagues last year. The team played in three different competitions (!!!) that year, and he had a chance to explore basketball on different levels. In 30 Serie A games, he recorded 9.4ppg, 3.4rpg, 3.8apg, and 1.0spg. Cappelletti also played 12 games in FIBA Europe Cup where he averaged 7.6ppg, 2.7rpg, 3.6apg, and 1.3spg. And finally, he recorded 2 games in Basketball Champions League where he got 7.0ppg, 1.5rpg, 4.0apg, and 1.0spg.
He has played previously for seven other teams: Verona, Mens Sana, Omegna, Virtus Bologna, Torino, Udine, and Virtus Bologna.
Among many awards, his team won the Italian Serie A2 Cup in 2022. Cappelletti was also voted Eurobasket.com All-Italian Serie A2 Domestic Player of the Year during 2022.
