In a major show of political solidarity and unity, the All Progressives Congress (APC) family in Isoko South Local Government Area has passed a resounding vote of confidence in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, and Delta South Senator Joel-Onowakpo Thomas. This historic declaration, made during a strategic stakeholders’ meeting in Emede, signals a new era of cohesion and strength within the party's ranks in the region.

The meeting, convened by Senator Joel-Onowakpo himself at his country home, drew political heavyweights, grassroots mobilizers, and top APC stalwarts from across Isoko South. The motion of confidence was moved by Hon. Ferguson Onwo, representing Isoko South II in the Delta State House of Assembly, and seconded by Dr. Sylvester Onoyona, the APC candidate for the House of Representatives in the 2023 elections.

Senator Joel-Onowakpo emphasized the need for unity and total integration among party members, declaring that the era of factionalism within the APC in Isoko South is officially over. He affirmed that all members whether old or recently defected from the People's Democratic Party must be treated as equals moving forward.

"From this day, we are one APC. No member should face discrimination based on how long they’ve been in the party. What matters now is our collective strength and shared responsibility to deliver on the mandate of our President and Governor," Senator Joel-Onowakpo said, earning a round of applause from attendees.

The Senator also directed all APC Ward Chairmen in Isoko South to begin immediate and unrestricted registration of new members, urging them to open their doors and issue membership cards to interested citizens without delay. He called on party faithful to become active at the grassroots level and demonstrate capacity in their respective communities to strengthen the party’s dominance in future elections.

The gathering was nothing short of a political masterstroke, with several political figures and officeholders present. Key attendees included Chief Lucky Esigie, Hon. Johnson Erijo, Hon. Bino Owhede, Hon. Lucky Okperi, Commissioner Chief Emamusi Obiodeh, and Chief Askia Ogieh, among many others. Their presence not only signified unity but also affirmed the collective belief in the leadership of Tinubu, Oborevwori, and Joel-Onowakpo.

Political analysts view the confidence vote as a strategic alignment that could boost the APC’s influence in Delta State, especially as the 2027 general elections draw closer. With the full integration of influential defectors and a renewed call for grassroots mobilization, Isoko South is poised to become a stronghold for the ruling party.

The vote of confidence in Tinubu, Oborevwori, and Joel-Onowakpo is seen as a viral moment in Delta politics—one that blends national support with local action. For many residents, this move confirms a deepening trust in leadership that spans both federal and state lines.
