In Pictures: Burberry's new star-studded campaign celebrates 'London in Love'
The collection, titled 'It's Always Burberry Weather: London in Love', has been launched via a series of short films, inspired by late 1990s, early 2000s British rom coms, which focus on the everyday romances of ordinary Londoners.
Also in the campaign are Aimee Lou Wood, Chen Kun, Jodie Turner-Smith, Micheal Ward, Nicholas Hoult, Son Sukku and models David Gandy and Liu Wen, as well a Burberry knight in shining armour.
Honouring the rich history of the trench coat and its refreshed design for summer, the films blend romantic themes with Britain’s unpredictable weather. They provide a glimpse into the brand’s approach to all-weather craftsmanship, showcasing heritage and seasonal trench coats alongside bold new silhouettes from Summer 2025.
Created by Thomas Burberry in 1879, the Burberry trench coat was made from gabardine. Dubbed the original performance fabric, its shower-resistant, lightweight and breathable properties allow for transeasonal wear.
Complementing the cinematic campaign, Burberry is unveiling a comprehensive celebration featuring window displays and in-store activations.
In the new collection, trench elements have been reimagined as sleek bonded cotton jackets, airy silk dresses, and shirts accented with Burberry check straps. The collection embraces a sense of lightness, with classic styles cropped, draped, and enhanced with cutouts and zips for versatility. Lightweight jackets reflect Burberry’s legacy of fabric innovation, modernising Prince of Wales check in tri-layer wool and weaving viscose silk with the Burberry Check.
"Our Summer 2025 campaign is a joyous celebration of our original purpose – to create clothing that protects people from the weather. It showcases the innovation and craftsmanship that defines Burberry as the ultimate trench and rainwear destination," said CEO Josh Schulman.
The collection was designed by Chief Creative Officer Daniel Lee, who is rumoured to be exiting the heritage British brand for Jil Sander.
