Her lifeless body was discovered on Saturday, August 22, 2026, in a bush, bearing multiple injuries, including four stab wounds inflicted by a formidable “naw-naw” knife.
The investigation, spearheaded by officers from the Tivaouane urban police station under Chief Superintendent Cheikh Ndiaye, quickly focused on B. Ndiaye, identified as a traditional spiritual practitioner. Local media reports indicate that thorough neighborhood inquiries and the meticulous analysis of mobile phone records swiftly led investigators to the suspect. Confronted with the compelling evidence gathered by the head of the Tivaouane judicial police and his team, B. Ndiaye confessed to the murder. However, he denied committing rape, a crucial detail that an impending autopsy is expected to determine.
According to the suspect's disturbing confession, he claimed to have received instructions from another practitioner, known only as “Coulibaly.” These instructions allegedly detailed a gruesome ritual: finding a young virgin, administering an unknown substance, stabbing her, collecting her blood, and then strangling her. Ndèye Bigué was tragically stabbed four times as part of this heinous act.
Further details revealed a pre-existing, unsettling connection between the suspect and the victim. B. Ndiaye, a former fisherman who became a spiritual practitioner, had previously provided prayers for Ndèye Bigué as she prepared for her 2026 baccalaureate exams. Despite his spiritual intercession, the young woman did not obtain her diploma. Nevertheless, the two remained in contact. Initial investigations suggest that the charlatan called the high school student to arrange a meeting. Ndèye Bigué reportedly left her home in Tivaouane around 8 p.m. on Friday night, August 21, the day before her body was found. The police were informed of the discovery of her lifeless body around 2 p.m. on Saturday.
