Game Changer: Justice and Gesaffelstein Drop Epic Collab for 'GTA VI' Score
Justice's score for Grand Theft Auto VI is building hype with the release of "Pusher," a collaboration with Gesaffelstein, following their track "Flowers In a Hurricane." The duo emphasizes the broad musical scope needed for the highly anticipated game, with the full original score album due in December.
The anticipation surrounding Justice’s original score for the eagerly awaited Grand Theft Auto VI has intensified with the release of “Pusher,” a new collaboration with fellow French artist Gesaffelstein. Launched on Thursday, October 29, this seven-minute track perfectly exemplifies what fans expect from the two musical entities, delivering a cinematic experience reminiscent of Justice’s iconic tracks like “Stress” and “Generator,” combined with the distinct, throttling percussion that defines Gesaffelstein’s work. Both acts contribute their signature style of darkly pummeling synths and a pacing ideally suited for action sequences, making it easy to envision this music seamlessly integrated into the highly anticipated GTA VI, set to launch on November 19.
“Pusher” marks the second official release from Justice’s comprehensive score for the GTA VI soundtrack. It follows the October 15 debut of “Flowers In a Hurricane,” a significant collaboration that featured SZA, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard, and Tame Impala. “Flowers In a Hurricane” quickly garnered attention, debuting at No. 62 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart dated October 31, a notable achievement that marked King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard’s first-ever entry on the prestigious list.
Justice’s Xavier de Rosnay offered insight into the creative process behind the score, explaining, “The scope of the game is so large geographically and thematically that it was clear from the beginning the music would also have to be very broad in terms of emotions, genres and textures. We were given the freedom to explore as many things as we needed to, musically speaking.” This statement highlights the extensive artistic freedom granted to the duo in crafting a diverse and fitting soundtrack. The full Grand Theft Auto VI: Original Score, which will also be recognized as Justice’s fifth studio album, is scheduled for release on December 11, distributed through Because Music, Ed Banger, and Rockstar Games.
