Four Seminarians Die in Obudu Ranch Crash

Four seminarians from the Enugu Catholic Diocese tragically lost their lives, and nine others were injured in a road accident on Saturday, May 3, near the base of the Obudu Ranch Resort hill in Cross River State. The group of 13 seminarians, accompanied by a Reverend Father, had just finished a guided tour of the popular tourist destination when the vehicle they were traveling in experienced brake failure while descending the steep hill. The accident took place just outside the resort's boundaries.
Prompt emergency response efforts were initiated by members of the Nigerian Army stationed at the Ranch, who collaborated with other first responders to evacuate the injured and recover the deceased. The injured seminarians are currently receiving medical treatment at nearby hospitals and clinics. Authorities have not yet released the names of the deceased, as they are still in the process of notifying their families.
In response to the tragic event, Nsa Gill, the Chief Press Secretary to the Cross River State Governor, issued an official statement expressing deep sorrow and described the incident as a devastating moment for the state and the families affected.
