Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, has revealed that approximately 20 aspirants are vying to succeed him when his tenure concludes in 2027. During a grand reception in Lafia, the state capital, for the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Barr. Labaran Magaji, Governor Sule indicated the likelihood of alliances and reconciliation among the contenders.

Governor Sule stated, "I want to use this opportunity to inform you that so far about 20 people are already in the race for the governorship of Nasarawa State. So far, that is what I am seeing, so there is going to be a lot of alliances, a lot of forgiveness, and a lot of team work if we really want to get to where we are, because at the end of the day only one person will get it." He emphasized that divine selection, rather than his own, would determine the next governor.

He urged support for whoever emerges as the governor in 2027, noting, "It is God Almighty that is going to select our next governor not A.A Sule. For that reason, we must look forward to that support and commend whoever will become the governor 2027."

Governor Sule also expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his ongoing support to Nasarawa State.
