Former 'Teen Mom' Star Nathan Griffith Moved to New Prison; His Wife May Oyola Defends Staying with Him & Explains Him Cheating on Her

Published 6 hours ago4 minute read
“We’re fine! Everything’s fine! I mean, whose husband HASN’T lived with other girls and then gone to prison?!”

As former dad remains locked up in prison, his wife, , is standing by her man, despite their extremely toxic situation.

For those of you who managed to block out Nathan’s most recent soulmate saga, the convicted felon– who shares son Kaiser with – pleaded guilty in May to a charge of “Battery Constituting Domestic Violence- Strangulation” as part of a plea agreement. That felony charge stemmed from Nathan’s April arrest for strangling then-girlfriend . At the time of his arrest, Nathan was already on probation for strangling his own sister in 2023, and had failed out of multiple rehab and veteran’s court programs over the last two years.

Nathan and Anastasia before his arrest…

Despite Nathan declaring his obsession love for Anastasia on social media just months ago, May– who’s been married to Nate since 2022– made it clear that she had taken Nathan back despite him leaving him for Anastasia during their marriage. May proved that Nathan was once again her soulmate by posting a photo to Instagram of flowers Nate had sent her from inside the clink.

Who knew the penitentiary had a floral shop!?

Since then, May has continued to share content on social media in recent months that suggests she and Nate have made amends. She perpetuated that narrative even further this week when she chose (for some reason) to do a Q&A on social media.

While answering questions from followers, May was asked about the timeline of Nathan and Anastasia’s relationship, specifically if she and Nate were separated at the time or if Nate had cheated on her. In true everyone-adjacent-to-Nathan fashion, May responded with a totally logically explanation for her husband’s extramarital affair.

“Ufff! Too much to answer… for what he says it was a huge mistake that made him realize how much he wants our family and the commitment he took with our marriage!” May wrote.

Later on, May– who is running Nathan’s Instagram page as he sits behind bars– posted a photo of herself sporting a belly button ring with Nathan’s initial, which she also took the liberty of reposting to Nate’s Instagram Story.

Unfortunately for Nate’s other half, Nathan will be maxin’ and relaxin’ in the big house for a while. As The Ashley previously reported, Nate was sentenced to a minimum of 14 months in prison (with a maximum sentence of 48 months) during a court hearing in May.

However, The Ashley can confirm that Jenelle’s former soulmate recently got “upgraded” to some new digs, courtesy of the Nevada Department of Corrections! On Thursday, the prison system moved Nathan to what will likely be his permanent facility to serve out his sentence: the Southern Desert Correctional Facility. The medium-security facility is located in Indian Springs, Nevada, just north of Las Vegas.

Unfortunately for Nathan, his new location is hardly The Ritz (or even ). The Southern Desert Correctional Center was hit with  violations last year in the areas of food safety and sanitation. It was also the scene of headlining-making prison riots in both 2022 and 2021.

“I’m more concerned that they don’t sell protein powder in the prison commissary. Is that even LEGAL!? I have weightlifting gains to keep up with, people! COME ON!”

Nathan’s new prison does offer several programs that are designed to help prisoners struggling with substance abuse issues, as well as programs to help inmates reintegrate into society, both of which the judge in Nate’s case recommended for him. There are also several programs that teach inmates trades like HVAC, automotive repair and forklift operation.

Nathan is allowed visitors, so if May (or even his baby mama Jenelle) would like to visit him, they are allowed to do so on certain days.

Nathan’s relocation was apparently cause for a Kodak moment, as he was required to take a new mugshot.

Nathan’s new muggy is suitable for framing, if you ask The Ashley…

As The Ashley told you, Nathan will be spending 14-48 months in prison. Although Nathan pleaded for leniency during his sentencing hearing in May, the judge said he had messed up way too many times for leniency.

“The judge told him ‘You are a danger to others and you’re going to kill someone,’” The Sun reported. “Nathan’s attorney really tried everything he could, but the judge said she had given Nathan enough chances, and that this wasn’t even his first probation violation.”

The Nevada Department of Corrections reported that Nate started his sentence on May 17.
