Epic Return! Prime Video's Top Fantasy Series Sets Comeback Date!

Prime Video has officially confirmed the highly anticipated third season of its epic fantasy series, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, setting its premiere date for November 11, 2026. This announcement, made during Amazon’s annual Upfront presentation in New York, comes with significant expectations, as the series delves into the foundational lore of Middle-earth, involving ancient evils, Elven kingdoms, Dwarven halls, Númenórean power struggles, and the inexorable rise of Sauron, one of fiction's most infamous villains.
The series has already established a substantial global footprint, attracting over 185 million viewers worldwide across its first two seasons. It remains a pivotal driver for new Prime membership sign-ups, underscoring its immense worldwide appeal. Peter Friedlander, Head of Global Television at Amazon MGM Studios, emphasized the show's impact, stating, “From the very beginning, this series has embodied the scale, ambition, and cinematic storytelling that define Prime Video’s biggest global series. The extraordinary response from millions of fans around the world has made it clear that this journey through Middle-earth continues to resonate, and that momentum has only grown heading into Season Three.”
Season 3 is poised to significantly advance the narrative, jumping forward several years from the events of Season 2. The storyline will immerse viewers in the height of the War of the Elves and Sauron, marking a crucial period in J.R.R. Tolkien’s Second Age. This era is defined by the Dark Lord's ultimate quest to forge the One Ring, the powerful weapon intended to bind all peoples to his will, secure victory in the war, and ultimately assert his dominion over all Middle-earth.
The acclaimed ensemble cast for The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power includes Morfydd Clark as Galadriel, Charlie Vickers as Sauron, Robert Aramayo as Elrond, Owain Arthur as Durin IV, Ismael Cruz Córdova as Arondir, Cynthia Addai-Robinson as Míriel, Trystan Gravelle as Pharazôn, Lloyd Owen as Elendil, Benjamin Walker as Gil-galad, and Daniel Weyman as Gandalf. All episodes from the first two seasons are currently available for streaming on Prime Video, allowing fans to revisit the saga leading up to the new season's debut.
