Dream Team Alert! Martin Scorsese & Oscar Isaac Reunite for New Netflix Crime Thriller Series!

Netflix is set to expand its high-profile content with Oscar Isaac returning to lead an as-yet untitled Las Vegas-set series. The "Moon Knight" star will portray Robert “Bobby Red” Redman, the president of a prominent casino, who finds himself embattled by adversaries determined to undermine his position and drag him back to the city's neon-lit streets.

The series marks a rare foray into television for acclaimed director Martin Scorsese, who will serve as an executive producer. Scorsese is no stranger to the intricate world of Las Vegas, having previously explored its history in his 1995 epic crime drama "Casino," and also executive produced "Boardwalk Empire," another prestige television series set in a different gambling mecca. His involvement brings significant weight to the project.

The creative vision for the series comes from Brian Koppelman and David Levien, renowned creators of "Billions." Their expertise in high-stakes gambling is evident, having also penned films such as "Rounders" and "Ocean's Thirteen." The duo will write, showrun, and executive produce the series. Other executive producers include Julie Yorn and Rick Yorn for Expanded Media, Paul Schiff, Beth Schacter, and Oscar Isaac himself, with Kerry Orent co-executive producing. J.C. Chandor, who previously directed Isaac in "Triple Frontier" and "A Most Violent Year," is slated to executive produce and direct the first two episodes.

Isaac maintains a long and fruitful relationship with Netflix. His initial project with the streamer was the 2019 action thriller "Triple Frontier." More recently, he starred as Dr. Victor Frankenstein in Guillermo del Toro's "Frankenstein," a role that garnered critical acclaim and a Golden Globe nomination. He is also currently starring in and executive producing the second season of the anthology black comedy series "Beef" alongside frequent collaborator Carey Mulligan.

Furthermore, this new series will not be the first collaboration between Isaac and Scorsese. Isaac previously starred in Paul Schrader’s Atlantic City drama "The Card Counter," which Scorsese executive produced. They are also set to appear on-screen together in the upcoming historical drama "In the Hand of Dante," where Isaac will portray the great Italian poet Dante Alighieri, and Scorsese will take on a rare on-screen acting role as Dante’s mentor.

While excitement builds for Oscar Isaac's new role in the untitled Las Vegas series, no release date has been announced. Fans are encouraged to stay tuned for future updates on this highly anticipated project.
