The following deaths have occurred:-

It is with deep regret we announce the passing of Paddy Glen, July 17 2025, peacefully at home, beloved husband of Bernie, loving father of Mena, George, Gary, Madeline and Sindy, father-in-law of Brian, Maria, Denise and Kieran, devoted grandfather of Rachel, Ethan, Jordan, Erin, Lee, Corey, Aaron, Jayden and Sophie and dear brother of Jim, Willie and the late Madeline. His remains will be reposing in his home, 78 The Meadows. Funeral from there on Saturday at 10.40am for 11.15am Requiem Mass in St Columba’s Church, Longtower. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery. Sacred Heart of Jesus have mercy on his soul.

The death has taken place of John Alexander Guthrie, July 16 2025, Peacefully at Altnagelvin Hospital (surrounded by his loving family, in his 66th year) much loved husband of Diane, devoted dad of Darryl, Brian, Ashley, Chloe and Eden, loving father-in-law of Victoria, Alison, Kelly and Calley, adored granda of Harry, Kyle, Scott, Lily, Anna-Rose, Kai, Jessica and Robert, precious son of Betty and the late Sammy, dearest brother of Herbert and the late Sammy, dearest son in law of Joan. Funeral leaving his late home, 16 Rushcroft Gardens, Kilfennan, on Sunday, July 20 at 1.00pm followed by a Service of Thanksgiving for his life in St Augustine’s Parish Church at 1.30pm burial afterwards in Ballyoan Cemetery. Family flowers only donations in lieu if desired (cheques made payable to W.H & S.C.T Altnagelvin Hospital Ward 26 (send your email address to be receipted) c/o Ruth Hay, Funeral Director, 24A, Church Road, Altnagelvin, Derry BT47 3QQ. Everyone is welcome to call at the family home on Friday and Saturday from 11.00am until 9.00pm. Dearly loved and will be sadly missed by his entire family circle. “Peace is yours, memories ours”

The death has occurred of the late Brendan Kelly, July 16 2025 peacefully at Deanfield Care Home, beloved husband of the late Rosemary, 53 Loughermore Road, Glack, loving father of Donna, Jim and Rhonda, and a devoted grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle. His remains will be reposing in his home. Funeral from there on Saturday at 9.30am for 10o’clock Requiem Mass in St Finlough’s Church, Ballykelly. Interment afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. Family time please from 10.00pm to 11.00am. No flowers please. The death has taken place of the late John Harvey Leacock, July 11 2025, (peacefully) at his home, 3 Motalee Lane, Magherafelt, dearly beloved husband of Isabel, much loved father of Julie, John, Jaclyn and the late Jayne, devoted grandad of John Jnr, Alex, Charlie, Leah, AJ, Carson, Sammy and Matilda and dearest brother of Pearl (Kelly). Everyone welcome at his home on Sunday (July 20) from 2:00pm - 8:00pm. Funeral service in Garvin’s Funeral Home on Monday (July 21) at 12:00noon followed by cremation at Antrim & Newtownabbey Crematorium. Family flowers only please. Marian Moore (née McLoone), 3 Abercorn Road, Derry

The death has taken place of Marian Moore (née McLoone), July 15 2025, peacefully at her home, 3 Abercorn Road, beloved wife of Fred, loving mother of Amanda, Kevin, Bryan and Deborah, devoted grandmother of Caitlin, Ethan, Callum, Emma and Kate, and dear and loving daughter of the late Margaret and Eugene. Dearly loved and will be sadly missed by her brothers and sisters and the wider family circle. Marian will be reposing at her home. Family time please from 10:00pm to 12:00noon. Funeral leaving her home on Friday, July 18 at 9:20am to St. Columba’s Church, Longtower for Requiem Mass at 10:00am. Bernadette (Bernie) Nelis (née McConnellogue), 51 The Branch, Derry

It is with deep sorrow and great sadness that we announce the passing of Bernadette (Bernie) Nelis (née McConnellogue), peacefully at Altnagelvin Hospital on July 17 2025. Late of 51 The Branch and formerly of 10 Fulton Place. May she rest in peace. Beloved wife of the late Billy. Cherished mother of Liam, Charlotte (Gormley), Margaret (Crabtree), Bernadette, Declan, Fidelma (Heaney), Karen (McCaul) and the late Danny. A much loved granny and great-granny to all of her loving grandchildren. Deeply regretted and sadly missed by all of her wider family circle, friends and neighbours. Bernie's remains will be reposing at her late family home, 51 The Branch. Funeral leaving from there on Saturday, July 19 at 9:20am for 10.00am Requiem Mass in St. Columba's Church, Longtower. Devoted grandfather of James, Liam, Eoghan, Joseph, Maranna, Brenda, Clare, Mary, Sarah, Senan, Eva and Esmae. Son of the late Patrick and Bridget Sweeney R.I.P of Templetuohy, Co. Tipperary and dear brother of Michael, John, Thomas, Bridget, Statia and the late Joseph R.I.P. Fond brother in law of Celine and Andy Rogers and Mary Decanniere. Very deeply regretted by the entire family circle.
