Afrobeats sensation Davido, known officially as David Adeleke, recently shared heartfelt insights into his family life during an appearance on The Breakfast Club podcast. The artist opened up about the joy and poignant memories associated with his children, particularly his newborn twins, one of whom strikingly resembles his late son, Ifeanyi.

Ifeanyi Adeleke, Davido's son with his partner Chioma Rowland, tragically passed away on October 31, 2022, at the young age of three, following a drowning accident at their Lagos residence. This devastating loss deeply affected Davido and his family, and the singer has been open about the grieving process and the support he received during that difficult time.

In a touching revelation, Davido shared that he and Chioma welcomed twins in 2023—a boy and a girl. He noted the uncanny resemblance between his newborn son and the late Ifeanyi. "We’ve got twins now, a boy and a girl. The boy looks exactly like my son who passed. They act the same. Everything he used to do, he does,” Davido expressed, highlighting the comforting similarities he observes between his children.

The singer also reflected on his personal growth, particularly concerning his relationships. At 31, Davido admitted that past experiences have significantly shaped his perspective on fidelity and family life. "I’m not cheating again. I don’t want wahala,” he stated, emphasizing his commitment to his relationship with Chioma. He acknowledged having five children with four different women and expressed a desire to avoid the complications and challenges that can arise from such situations, drawing from the experiences of his uncles and other family members in polygamous settings.

Looking forward, Davido confirmed plans for a white wedding with Chioma in Miami this August. The couple, who had already solidified their union with a traditional ceremony in 2022, celebrated the first birthday of their twins on October 9, 2024, in Atlanta. Davido shared his joy and gratitude on social media, posting “+1 Alhamdulillah” alongside baby emojis, marking a moment of renewed happiness after a period of mourning.

The anticipation among fans to see Davido's twins has been palpable, with many creating AI-generated images to imagine what the newborns might look like. These images, blending features of Davido and Chioma, have circulated online, reflecting the public's eagerness to share in the couple's joy. However, Davido has yet to officially share images of his twins, maintaining their privacy.

In other news, following Ifeanyi’s passing, a CCTV video purportedly showing the incident circulated online. However, Lagos police clarified that the video was fake and not from Davido's residence. The police confirmed that they had not yet reviewed the actual CCTV footage from Davido's home and that the viral video was, in fact, from a drowning incident in China in 2019.

Davido's openness about his family, his grief, and his renewed commitment to his relationship with Chioma resonates with many. His story is one of love, loss, and resilience, and fans continue to support him as he navigates his personal and professional life.
