Davido: My white wedding with Chioma will hold in August

Nigerian Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, known globally as Davido, has officially announced the date for his highly anticipated white wedding with Chioma Rowland. The announcement follows their elaborate traditional marriage ceremony, which took place on June 25, 2024, and was a high-profile event attended by numerous dignitaries from Nigeria's political, business, and entertainment sectors.
The traditional wedding was graced by prominent figures including former President Olusegun Obasanjo, the Ooni of Ife, Adeyeye Ogunwusi, and Oba Saheed Elegushi of Ikate-Elegushi Kingdom. Other notable attendees included Governor Dapo Abiodun of Ogun State, Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State, former Akwa Ibom governor Udom Emmanuel, Seyi Tinubu (son of the President), and influential businessman Obi Cubana, among many others.
In a recent interview on Breakfast Club, Davido revealed that the white wedding is scheduled to take place in Miami in August 2025. Reflecting on the magnitude of their traditional marriage, Davido commented, "Our traditional marriage shut down Nigeria because our relationship was in the public eye, and a lot has happened, apart from losing our child."
In addition to the wedding announcement, Davido addressed his past disagreement with fellow artist Tiwa Savage. The rift began after Savage filed a petition in January 2024, alleging threats of assault and harm following her sharing a photo with Sophia Momodu, one of Davido's baby mothers. Davido explained that the conflict arose from a custody dispute with Sophia, during which he had hoped Savage would assist him in gaining access to his daughter. He characterized the disagreement as minor, describing it as a "sibling-like argument," and assured that they have since resolved their differences.
Davido expressed his deep respect and admiration for Savage, acknowledging her significant impact on the music industry. "Tiwa Savage and I used to stay in the same house; she is my big sister. She saw me as a youngling," he stated. "The situation with Tiwa was personal. She is a good friend of the mother of my first daughter. So, when we were in a quarrel over custody, I felt Tiwa could help me see my daughter, so we got into a little argument." He further added, "It was nothing. It was just like a brother and sister arguing. I haven’t seen her since then, but she did reach out. I love her child, I saw him grow up. Tiwa is an amazing person; she changed the game for females in the industry, and she will always have that respect. That’s my sister. I will never let anything happen to her."
The white wedding in Miami is expected to be another grand affair, drawing considerable attention from fans and media outlets globally. The couple's journey has been closely followed by the public, marked by both joyous occasions and personal tragedies, making their upcoming wedding a highly anticipated event.
