Dangote Refinery Slashes Petrol Price to N699/Litre Again, Fueling Local Relief
The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced another significant reduction in its petrol gantry price, dropping from N828 to N699 per litre. This marks the refinery's 20th price adjustment this year, aiming to stabilize the market and compete with importers. Nigerians are hopeful for lower pump prices, especially ahead of the festive season, while other private depots have also begun adjusting their rates.
The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has once again implemented a significant reduction in its petrol gantry price, cutting it from N828 to N699 per litre. This represents a substantial decrease of approximately 16 per cent, or N129 per litre, of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS). Data from Petroleumprice.ng indicates that this new pricing adjustment took effect on December 11 or 12, 2025, marking roughly the 20th petrol price modification announced by the refinery within the current year alone.
Nigerians have expressed considerable optimism that this reduction in the ex-depot price will lead to corresponding cuts in fuel prices at retail pumps. This latest move by the Dangote Refinery is consistent with its ongoing strategy to compete vigorously with major product importers.
