I can confirm that Colby will hire Belmont associate head coach Sean Rutigliano as their new head men’s basketball coach. The move was signed off on following a meeting with the college’s President earlier this week.

Rutigliano had spent the past six seasons on the Casey Alexander’s staff at Belmont, and was elevated to associate head coach prior to last season. Prior to his time at Belmont, he worked for Alexander for four years at Lipscomb. Rutigliano has been a part of nine consecutive 20-win seasons with Alexander.

Rutigliano also spent five seasons as an assistant coach at Army West Point, and spent time as an assistant at Kean University (NJ), University of Alabama Huntsville and Ouachita Baptist University.

Other finalists for this one included Holy Cross assistant coach Bryson Johnson, Brown assistant Sam Hershberger, and a current D3 head coach.

An official announcement is expected shortly.
