Crystal Palace Seals Sensational £50m Deal for Wolves Striker Jorgen Strand Larsen

Crystal Palace has reportedly reached an agreement in principle, valued at approximately £50 million, to secure the services of Wolves striker Jorgen Strand Larsen. Interest in the 25-year-old Norwegian international has significantly escalated over the past 24 hours, and a formal bid is expected to be submitted imminently.

This potential acquisition would mark a new club record for Crystal Palace, surpassing the £35 million fee paid for Wales striker Brennan Johnson earlier this month. Wolves, the selling club, have indicated their willingness to offload Strand Larsen during the current transfer window, provided they receive an offer close to the £55 million figure they rejected from Newcastle for the forward during the summer transfer window.

Other clubs have also shown interest, with Leeds having a £40 million offer for Strand Larsen rejected by Wolves. The Elland Road club is reportedly reluctant to increase their bid further at this time. Crystal Palace's aggressive pursuit of Strand Larsen has also cast a shadow of uncertainty over the future of existing striker Jean-Philippe Mateta at Selhurst Park, particularly as the transfer window approaches its conclusion. Mateta has reportedly expressed his desire to depart the club and has communicated his wishes to the Palace hierarchy.
