King’s Hawaiian is the most popular brand of Hawaiian rolls. These rolls are influenced by traditional Portuguese sweet bread and are in fact, very sweet. The added sugar along with the flaky, soft inside makes them irresistible, and somewhat addicting when paired with salty, savory fillings like turkey and cheese.

Layer the bread, turkey, and cheese in the prepared pan, and keep covered in the refrigerator for up to a day. when you’re ready to make the sliders, add the buttery seasoning mixture and bake as directed in the recipe.

    • Switch up the cheese. Havarti goes really well with turkey, but you can use any type of cheese you like. Try Swiss, mozzarella, American, or cheddar cheese instead.
    • Unsalted butter is best, as salted butter can throw off the flavor balance of the sauce.
    • Use a serrated knife. Hawaiian rolls are very soft, so a regular straight knife will crush them. A serrated knife does the best job of slicing through them easily.
    • To make the rolls super simple to slice, place the whole package in the freezer for about 15 minutes before you cut them.
    • To Store: These sliders are best when you eat them shortly after removing them from the oven. If you have leftovers, store them in the fridge for up to 2 days. Reheat in the oven or air fryer, just until they’re warm again.
