Chibok Under Siege: Troops Heroically Repel Overnight Assault on Communities

The Nigerian Army has successfully thwarted a large-scale midnight assault orchestrated by over three hundred terrorists on communities in Chibok, Borno State. The coordinated attack, launched from multiple directions in the early hours of Saturday at approximately 2:50 a.m., was swiftly detected and neutralized by vigilant soldiers.
Troops from the 28 Task Force Brigade, already on high alert, identified the hostile movement before the insurgents could advance into the communities. They promptly established battle positions and engaged the attackers from various fronts. A fierce exchange of gunfire ensued for more than two hours, during which the soldiers resolutely held their ground, effectively preventing the terrorists from breaching the community defenses.
As daybreak approached, the terrorist group began a disorganized retreat towards the Azir axis, which leads into the notorious Sambisa Forest. Their escape route involved attempting to cross the vital Damboa to Biu supply road. In response, the army immediately mobilized the 25 Brigade to man pre-arranged ambush points strategically located around the Azir Bridge, aiming to intercept the fleeing fighters.
The Nigerian Army's unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) provided crucial support by monitoring the insurgents' movement, while the air component of Operation Hadin Kai reinforced ground operations by deploying a Super Tucano aircraft. As ground troops closed in, the terrorists scattered, and their escape was further disrupted. Crucially, the operation resulted in no casualties among the Nigerian Army troops, nor were there any equipment losses.
Exploration operations are currently ongoing around Chibok, with the Nigerian Army intensifying its efforts to track down all fleeing elements and restrict their movement. Footage capturing the mass withdrawal of the attackers following their failed assault has been secured and is now under analysis for further intelligence and action. The Nigerian Army reiterates its unwavering commitment to protecting the nation's territorial integrity and ensuring the safety and security of all its citizens.
