Chhattisgarh Maoist/Naxalite Encounter

In a significant development in Chhattisgarh's Narayanpur district, an intense encounter between security forces and Naxalites resulted in the death of two women Naxalites. The gunfight, which occurred late Wednesday evening in a forest under Kohkameta police station limits within the challenging Abhujmaad area, was part of an ongoing anti-Naxal operation.

The joint operation involved personnel from the District Reserve Guard (DRG) of both Narayanpur and Kondagaon districts, alongside the Special Task Force (STF). This targeted operation was launched based on credible intelligence regarding the presence of senior cadres belonging to the Maad division of Maoists in the region. Following the exchange of fire, security personnel successfully recovered an Insas rifle and a .315 bore rifle from the encounter site. Police officials confirmed the recovery of the bodies of the two women Naxalites. The comprehensive anti-Naxal operation in the area remains underway, indicating continued efforts to neutralize the extremist threat.
