Monsoon LIVE Updates: Rain Lashes Parts Of National Capital; IMD Issues Heavy Rain Alerts For Multiple States

Monsoon is expected to pick up pace in different parts of the country in the upcoming days. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted extremely heavy rainfall to continue over Northwest, Central, East & Northeast India during the next 7 days.

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) issued a yellow alert for Monday and said that the sky may remain cloudy throughout the day and there may be thunderstorms along with moderate rain at some places. On Sunday, the minimum temperature in Delhi was recorded at 26.8 degrees Celsius. At the same time, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), the air quality of the capital remained at “satisfactory” level.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasted generally cloudy skies with light to moderate rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds for the next four days across Delhi-NCR.

According to IMD, “Extremely heavy rainfall (>20 cm/24 hours) likely at isolated places over Jharkhand on 30th June. Isolated heavy rainfall over Jharkhand, Odisha, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh during 30th June-05th July.”
