Delhi weather alert: Yellow warning issued for thunderstorms and heavy rain tonight, IMD says

(IMD) has issued a 'yellow' alert for Delhi for Wednesday night, warning of a thunderstorm and moderate to heavy rainfall in parts of the city.Earlier in the day, an 'orange' alert was in place for moderate rain, thunderstorms, and gusty winds blowing at speeds between 40 and 50 kmph on Wednesday evening.

Delhi recorded a maximum temperature of 34.2°C, which is 2.6 degrees below normal for this time of year. The minimum temperature was 28°C, slightly above normal by 0.5 degrees, the IMD said.

Humidity levels remained very high, with 94% at 5:30 pm and 90% at 8:30 am, making the weather feel more humid despite the drop in temperature.At 4 pm, Delhi's Air Quality Index (AQI) was recorded at 81, placing it in the 'satisfactory' category, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).

The IMD continues to monitor the situation closely and has advised residents to stay indoors during thunderstorms and avoid waterlogged areas.
