Celebrities Attend Blackpink's South Korea Concert

The highly anticipated K-pop girl group Blackpink commenced the first two shows of its 'Deadline' world tour at South Korea's Goyang Stadium on July 5 and 6. These concerts quickly transformed into a star-studded event, drawing a multitude of prominent K-pop and K-drama celebrities, turning the arena into a veritable who's who of Korean entertainment.

Among the notable attendees was BTS member J-Hope, whose presence caused such excitement that an online netizen described it as feeling like 'an earthquake had occurred.' The idol was seen enthusiastically dancing to various songs, including Jennie's 'With The IE (Way Up),' and even took a picture with Colin Crooks, the British Ambassador to South Korea. Similarly, Twice members Nayeon and Jihyo were greeted with overwhelming screams and cheers upon their entry, with fans amusingly noting their use of cooling patches and portable fans to combat the heat, a sight deemed 'so cute' by many.

Seated directly behind Nayeon and Jihyo were Red Velvet members Irene and Seulgi, who actively cheered for Blackpink throughout the concert and even received cooling patches from their Twice counterparts. YG Entertainment labelmates Babymonster showcased their energy by dancing to numerous Blackpink hits such as 'How You Like That' and 'Boombayah.' I-dle member Minnie, a Thai-born singer, was spotted near Babymonster, dancing alongside fellow countrywoman Pharita to Rose's smash hit 'Apt.' Seventeen members Mingyu, Jeonghan, and The8 were also present in the same section.

Le Sserafim, seated in the floor section, enjoyed prime views and engaged actively by jumping and dancing, interacting with fans, and posing for photos. Following the concert, the quintet shared their enthusiastic experience on the fan platform Weverse DM, exclaiming that they 'lost their voices' and had 'so much fun.'

The concert also saw the attendance of several prominent K-drama figures. Popular actor Lee Min-ho, who is set to star alongside Blackpink's Jisoo in the upcoming film 'Omniscient Reader,' was spotted. Notably, the cast members of Jisoo's debut drama 'Snowdrop,' including her leading man Jung Hae-in, Heo Nam-jun, and Yoon Se-ah, were also in attendance. 'Squid Game' star Jung Ho-yeon maintained a low profile but later shared a glimpse of her view of the stage during Blackpink's performance on her Instagram Story.

The reunion of the 'Snowdrop' cast, particularly the quiet presence of Jung Hae In, reignited fervent discussions among fans who 'shipped' him and Jisoo, affectionately known as 'HaeSoo.' Jung Hae In's discreet attendance, clad in a mask and modest attire, was interpreted by many as a subtle gesture of support for his former co-star. Their undeniable on-screen chemistry in 'Snowdrop' and past sweet behind-the-scenes moments had long fueled dating rumors. However, hopes were seemingly dashed when Dispatch reported on August 3, 2023, that Jisoo was dating actor Ahn Bo Hyun, a close friend of Jung Hae In. Jung Hae In himself addressed the news, stating he 'only found out through a news article' and expressed hopes for their 'good relationship,' which momentarily crushed the 'HaeSoo' shippers.

Yet, the 'HaeSoo' flame was reignited in May 2024 when Jung Hae In sent a thoughtful coffee truck and a bunny plushie to support Jisoo on the set of her drama 'Influenza.' The plush rabbit, a clear nod to Jisoo’s 'Turtle Rabbit' nickname, and a sticker featuring her profile from BLISSOO’s website, were seen as incredibly personal and affectionate gestures. Jisoo later expressed her gratitude by posting a photo of the truck on her social media, once again fueling speculation among fans.

During their 'Deadline' concert, Blackpink captivated the audience by performing a mix of their classic hits and individual solo tracks from all four members: Jisoo, Jennie, Rose, and Lisa. The concert also served as the debut performance of their new single, 'Jump,' which is scheduled for an upcoming release. Blackpink is set to continue the 'Deadline' world tour with its North American leg, beginning this weekend at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, USA.
