President Bola Tinubu has approved a significant reshuffle of the Federal Executive Council (FEC), announcing the removal of the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, and the Minister of Housing and Urban Development, Ahmed Dangiwa. This pivotal decision was formalized in a memo signed on Tuesday by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), George Akume, and subsequently issued through the Office of the SGF spokesperson, Yomi Odunuga.

In the wake of these changes, new appointments have been made to critical portfolios. Taiwo Oyedele has been appointed as the new Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy. He previously served as Minister of State in the same ministry. Additionally, Dr. Muttaqha Darma has been named ministerial nominee and minister-designate for the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development, replacing the outgoing minister.

The memo also provided clear directives for the transition, instructing the outgoing ministers to complete comprehensive handover processes to their respective successors or supervising officials. All handover activities are mandated to conclude on or before April 23, ensuring a smooth and efficient transition of responsibilities.
