Martha Ahumuza Murari collapsed on Wednesday night, March 19, at Mezo Noir, a popular high-end hangout in Kololo.

She was rushed to the hospital but passed away. The cause of death is yet to be confirmed, and the establishment has temporarily suspended its operations.

Minister of State for Youth and Children’s Affairs, Balaam Barugahara, expressed his concern on X, stating: "So sad we have lost a young beautiful girl. I'm deeply concerned about the rising substance abuse and drug cases in our community.

"I urge the police and security agencies to expedite their investigations and take swift action. The alarming increase in the sale of illicit drugs in high-end bars across Kampala demands immediate attention.

"It's high time we completely ban and eliminate substance abuse to protect our young people from losing their lives and sanity. Thank you, @PoliceUg, for your efforts. I hope community members can join @Mglsd_UG and police to take necessary measures to address this issue."
