Britney Spears Arrested for DUI, Representative Pledges “Overdue Change”

Pop star Britney Spears was arrested on March 4 in Ventura County, California, on suspicion of driving under the influence. She was booked and later released, with a court date set for May 4.
Spears’ representative told Billboard that the incident is “completely inexcusable” and emphasized Britney’s commitment to comply with the law and take “the right steps” toward change. Her sons, Sean and Jayden, are expected to spend time with her as loved ones support her.
This is not Spears’ first legal issue. In 2007, she faced a hit-and-run and driving without a license, which was later dismissed. These events preceded her 13-year conservatorship, which governed her life until 2021.
Her ex-husband, Kevin Federline, previously warned in his memoir You Thought You Knew about potential risks if her circumstances didn’t improve. Spears has criticized these claims, calling them “hurtful and exhausting.”
