Breaking: Suspect Arrested in Shocking Rihanna Shooting Incident

Ivanna Lisette Ortiz, the woman accused of shooting at Rihanna’s Los Angeles mansion, has been formally charged with multiple felony counts, including attempted murder.
According to a press release issued by the L.A. County District Attorney’s Office on Tuesday, March 10, Ortiz is now being held on a reduced bail of $1.875 million, significantly down from the original $10.2 million set at her initial arrest.
The charges specify one count of attempted murder, ten felony counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm, and three felony counts of shooting at an inhabited dwelling or camper.
The charges stem from an incident on Sunday, March 8, when Ortiz reportedly fired approximately ten shots from an AR-15-style assault rifle at Rihanna’s Beverly Hills residence.
Police reports indicate that Ortiz, 35, a Florida native, carried out the shooting from inside her white Tesla, which was parked directly across the street from the singer's home.
During the assault, one round managed to penetrate a wall of the mansion, and bullet holes were also discovered in the gate of the property and an RV parked in the driveway.
Crucially, while Rihanna was reportedly home at the time with her three children, no injuries were reported in the incident.
Authorities responded to a report of a shooting at 1:21 p.m. on Sunday. Ortiz fled the scene in her Tesla, but a police helicopter successfully spotted and tracked her vehicle.
The pursuit led to a shopping center parking lot in nearby Sherman Oaks, where Ortiz was apprehended approximately 30 minutes after the initial 911 call.
During the arrest, law enforcement officials searched her vehicle and discovered the assault rifle used in the shooting, along with seven spent shell casings.
While the motive behind the assault remains officially uncited, the Los Angeles Times reported that Ortiz had no known affiliation with either Rihanna or her longtime partner, rapper A$AP Rocky.
However, the paper noted that Ortiz had recently made several posts about Rihanna on her Facebook page.
These included a meme posted on February 17 suggesting the singer had an STI, and another post on February 23 where Ortiz tagged Rihanna, writing, "@badgirlriri Are you there? Cause I was waiting for your AIDS 5-head self to say something to me directly instead of sneaking around like you talking to me where I’m not at.”
Ortiz's background includes several prior arrests in her home state of Florida, such as a bankruptcy case in 2013, a careless driving arrest in 2021, and a 2023 arrest on suspicion of domestic violence and battery. She is also a licensed speech pathologist.
If convicted on all charges, Ivanna Lisette Ortiz faces a severe penalty, with a potential sentence of up to life in state prison.
Her arraignment is scheduled for March 25, where she is expected to enter a plea.
As of the time of the press release, neither Rihanna nor A$AP Rocky had issued any public comments regarding the incident or Ortiz’s arrest and subsequent charges.
