Box Office Sensation: ‘One Battle After Another’ Breaks $200 Million and Dominates Global Charts

Lionsgate's 'Now You See Me: Now You Don't' achieved the top position on global box office charts, commanding $75.5 million worldwide. The film also secured first place domestically, with an international gross of $54.2 million from 64 territories. Released nearly a decade after the previous installment in the series, this third entry resonated strongly with foreign audiences, particularly in key markets such as China ($19.2 million), South Korea ($3.9 million), France ($3.5 million), and the U.K. ($3.2 million). Directed by Ruben Fleischer, the movie brought back franchise mainstays Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher, and Dave Franco as a band of Robin Hood-like illusionists, demonstrating strong commercial appeal despite its $90 million production budget.
In other notable box office performances, Sony's 'Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle' had a robust opening in China, debuting with an impressive $52.4 million. This propelled the film to become the fifth highest-grossing film of 2025, having accumulated nearly $730 million globally to date.
Conversely, Paramount's 'The Running Man,' an R-rated adaptation of Stephen King’s dystopian novel, experienced a significant collapse at the global box office. After a disappointing $17 million domestic launch, the film managed to earn only $11.2 million internationally from 58 markets, resulting in a disastrous total global gross given its substantial $110 million budget. Directed by Edgar Wright, known for films like 'Baby Driver' and 'Shaun of the Dead,' and starring Glen Powell, 'The Running Man' struggled to gain traction, even in its strongest international territories which included the U.K. ($3.3 million), Germany ($1.1 million), and Australia ($1 million).
Warner Bros.' 'One Battle After Another' navigated a complex journey, ultimately crossing the $200 million mark at the global box office. Initially reported with $196 million globally, the film earned an additional $1.4 million internationally to push past this significant milestone. This epic adventure film, directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, features a star-studded cast including Leonardo DiCaprio, Sean Penn, Benicio del Toro, Teyana Taylor, Regina Hall, and Chase Infiniti. It garnered widespread critical acclaim, securing a
