Bollywood Titans Unite! Netflix Secures Massive Deal with Yash Raj Films

Yash Raj Films (YRF), one of Bollywood's most esteemed studios, has announced a significant partnership with Netflix, making its vast catalog of classic Hindi films available to streaming subscribers worldwide. This collaboration marks a pivotal moment for Indian cinema, offering global audiences unprecedented access to beloved titles from the comfort of their homes.

The rollout of these iconic films will occur in strategic phases, carefully timed to coincide with festivals, special occasions, and cinematic milestones. The initiative is set to commence on November 1, a date chosen to honor Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's birthday. This initial phase will feature nine of Khan’s most iconic YRF films, including classics like "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge," "Mohabbatein," "Dil Toh Pagal Hai," "Veer Zara," and "Chak De India," allowing fans to revisit some of his most memorable performances.

Following this, additional classic titles will become available starting November 14. This second wave includes acclaimed films such as Sridevi’s "Chandni" and "Lamhe," Amitabh Bachchan’s "Kabhi Kabhie" and "Silsila," and Anil Kapoor’s "Vijay," further enriching the library with timeless cinematic gems.

The holiday season will bring an even more extensive release schedule. From December 12 to 28, a total of 34 films will be launched, with two titles premiering daily. This collection will feature popular movies such as "Bunty Aur Babli," "Hum Tum," "Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic," "Mujhse Dosti Karoge," and "Ta Ra Rum Pum." A special release on December 27 will celebrate Salman Khan's birthday, bringing three of his blockbusters – "Ek Tha Tiger," "Sultan," and "Tiger Zinda Hai" – to the platform.

The partnership extends into 2026, with a dedicated Valentine’s week collection launching on February 7. This romantic compilation will include eight titles like "Saathiya," "Ishaqzaade," "Bachna Ae Haseeno," and "Salaam Namaste," catering to fans of heartfelt storytelling. Popular franchises are also integral to this deal, with the "Dhoom" trilogy, notably featuring Aamir Khan in a dual role in its third installment, streaming from November 28. Additionally, Rani Mukerji’s critically acclaimed "Mardaani" series will arrive on January 22, 2026.

Monika Shergill, VP, India Content at Netflix, described the partnership as a "milestone for Indian cinema on Netflix." She highlighted Netflix's decade-long commitment to Indian stories and emphasized how bringing these timeless blockbusters, along with previous content like the docu-series ‘The Romantics,’ deepens their commitment to championing the depth, diversity, and emotion of Indian storytelling. She added that the collaboration unites YRF’s rich heritage with Netflix’s unparalleled global reach, allowing fans to relive the magic of iconic stars and eras, while new audiences discover their timeless charm.

Akshaye Widhani, CEO of Yash Raj Films, expressed gratitude for the audience's love and trust over YRF's 50-year history. He stated that bringing this remarkable cinematic legacy to Netflix enables the world to experience the "color, music, and magic of India and Indian cinema that YRF has always celebrated." Widhani emphasized that YRF's library is "more than a collection of iconic films; it’s a gateway to five decades of culture, creativity, and passion," and expressed excitement for this legacy to reach new global audiences and generations through Netflix.
