Blenders Pride Fashion Tour, this year commenced with a breathtaking ode to the legendary Rohit Bal, a designer whose artistic brilliance has shaped Indian couture. Setting the stage for an evening of grandeur, his most treasured muse, Sonam Kapoor, brought his legacy to life as she illuminated the runway in one of his opulent creations.
With the spotlight on Bal’s timeless craftsmanship, the night unfolded as an immersive experience celebrating his Kashmiri heritage, his passion for art, and his unparalleled design philosophy. Curated in collaboration with the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI), every element of the evening resonated with his artistic spirit. Renowned set designer Sumant Jayakrishnan crafted a mesmerising space infused with Bal’s iconic motifs, while celebrated Chef Suvir Saran curated an exquisite Kashmiri feast. The soulful compositions of Vibha Saraf and Deveshi Sahgal further enriched the evening, setting a poignant tone for the tribute.
Over a hundred of Bal’s closest friends from the worlds of fashion, Bollywood, and media walked the runway, transforming the night into a star-studded affair. From Kalyani Chawla, Varun Bahl, and JJ Valaya to Madhur Bhandarkar, Rahul Dev, and Esha Gupta, each personality added their own touch to this celebration. Larger-than-life projections of Bal’s most memorable moments filled the space, weaving an emotional narrative of his incredible journey.
Kartik Mohindra, Chief Marketing Officer at Pernod Ricard India, summed up the grandeur of the evening, stating, “This celebration of Rohit Bal’s legacy was one for the ages.
