BLACKPINK's 'DEADLINE' Smashes Records, Securing Fourth Top 10 on Album Sales Chart!

BLACKPINK's highly anticipated new album, titled DEADLINE, has made a significant debut on multiple Billboard charts, marking the group's first new release in over three years. The five-song project landed at No. 2 on Top Album Sales, No. 3 on Independent Albums, and No. 8 on the overall Billboard 200 chart for the week ending March 14. In its first week in the United States, which concluded on March 5, DEADLINE garnered an impressive 52,000 equivalent album units, with pure album sales contributing 41,000 of that total, according to Luminate.

This new release follows BLACKPINK's previous chart-topping album, BORN PINK, which debuted at No. 1 on the Oct. 1, 2022-dated chart. Since then, all four members of BLACKPINK – Jennie, Jisoo, Lisa, and Rosé – have ventured into solo album projects, each successfully charting within the top 15 on Top Album Sales, demonstrating their individual and collective impact on the music industry.

DEADLINE was one of five new entries to break into the top 10 of the latest Top Album Sales ranking, highlighting a dynamic week for album releases. Leading the chart was Bruno Mars' The Romantic, securing his second No. 1 and fifth top 10 album. Gorillaz also achieved their eighth top 10 entry with The Mountain, debuting at No. 3. Mitski's Nothing's About To Happen to Me marked her third top 10 appearance with a No. 4 debut, while Rob Zombie's The Great Satan landed at No. 6, becoming his eighth top 10 as a solo artist.

The remaining spots in the Top Album Sales top 10 saw various movements. Bad Bunny's former No. 1, DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS, held steady at No. 5. Chart-topping sets from ATEEZ's GOLDEN HOUR : Part.4 and ENHYPEN'S THE SIN : VANISH each dropped one position to Nos. 7 and 8, respectively. Panic! at the Disco's A Fever You Can’t Sweat Out made a notable re-entry at No. 9, its first week in the top 10, following a 20th-anniversary reissue. Finally, Olivia Dean's The Art of Loving rounded out the top 10, moving from No. 8 to No. 10.
