Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, alongside the national leadership of the Accord Party (AP), has officially endorsed President Bola Tinubu as their preferred presidential candidate for the 2027 general election. This significant endorsement emerged from a pivotal meeting held on Saturday night in Osogbo, the capital of Osun State, which convened the governor and various high-ranking officials of the Accord Party.

The announcement of this endorsement was made public on Sunday through a statement issued by Pelumi Olajengbesi, who serves as the spokesperson for Governor Adeleke’s re-election campaign. Olajengbesi detailed that the comprehensive discussions at the meeting encompassed critical national and party-specific issues, with a strong emphasis on advocating for the continuity of the current administration's ongoing infrastructure development agenda. The leadership of the Accord Party underscored the paramount importance of allowing the Tinubu administration ample time to successfully complete the legacy projects it has initiated across the country.

Specifically, the party leadership highlighted major infrastructure initiatives, stating, “The leadership of the party said it is important that the Tinubu administration completes all the roads and infrastructure projects it has commenced such as the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road and the Sokoto-Badagry Highway.” This indicates a clear alignment with the federal government's developmental goals and a desire to see these projects through to completion for national benefit.

Beyond national politics, the meeting also served as a crucial forum for reviewing the preparatory steps and strategies for the upcoming Osun State governorship election. During this discussion, the Accord Party leadership made a fervent appeal for the electoral process to be conducted in a peaceful manner. They issued stern warnings against any acts of violence, voter intimidation, electoral manipulation, and explicitly cautioned against the deployment of security agencies to harass members of the party during the election period.
