Behold the Fenomeno! Lamborghini Unleashes Its Most Powerful V-12 Beast Ever

Lamborghini has unveiled its latest 'few-off' creation, the Fenomeno, a hypercar designed for its most fanatical collectors. This vehicle follows a lineage of exclusive models like the Reventon, Sesto Elemento, Veneno, Centenario, Sián, and the 2021 Countach. Named after a brave Mexican fighting bull, the Fenomeno is positioned as the fastest and most powerful Lamborghini road car ever produced, making its debut at the Quail during Monterey Car Week.
Based on the Revuelto's architecture, the Fenomeno boasts an astonishing 1,065bhp combined system output, earning it King Lambo bragging rights over the 1,001bhp Revuelto. It achieves 0-62mph (0-100 km/h) in a mere 2.4 seconds and 0-124mph (0-200 km/h) in 6.7 seconds, with a top speed exceeding 217mph (350 km/h). The significant power increase comes from a juiced-up version of the Revuelto’s plug-in hybrid powertrain. The 6.5-liter V12 engine is tuned to produce 823 hp at 9,250 rpm, a 9-hp bump over the standard setup. The electric component, comprising three electric motors (two on the front axle and one working on the transaxle), generates a combined 242 hp, 50 hp more than the Revuelto's system. This extra electrical power is unlocked by a new 7kWh battery, which, despite being the same physical size and slightly heavier than the Revuelto’s cells, offers twice the capacity.
To counteract the heavier battery and maintain a competitive power-to-weight ratio, Lamborghini engineers re-engineered the entire bodywork from carbon fibre, reminiscent of the 2010 V10 Sesto Elemento. This allows the Fenomeno to match the Revuelto's 1,770kg dry weight, achieving the highest power-to-weight ratio of any Lamborghini in the company's history, just under 5.4 lb/hp. Visually, only the Revuelto’s glass remains, with all other elements being new. The Fenomeno is wider (track increased by 0.8 inches) and lengthier, featuring a distinctive longtail tapering at the rear. Aerodynamic enhancements include an S-duct up front that funnels air through the bonnet to generate downforce, and an active rear wing with three positions, contributing to 30 percent more downforce than a Revuelto.
Functionality is key in its aggressive design, with all Countach-inspired intakes, ducts, and vents serving specific purposes, particularly addressing cooling challenges posed by the upgraded battery. A roof scoop and fully exposed engine bay ensure the V12 is well-supplied with fresh air. The exterior also features menacing hooded headlights, a departure from the Revuelto’s spidery LED running lights, and unusual vertical taillights. The exposed rear tyre and an exceptionally large exhaust further distinguish its appearance. Standard wheels are 21/22-inch Reventon-inspired rims with centrelock hubs, with optional sticky track-day tires enhancing acceleration.
The interior, while largely similar to the standard Revuelto, incorporates unique elements reflecting its lightweight and 'alien' brief. New carbon door cards, an 'alien eye' ambient lighting system, unique 3D printed vents, and specially designed monoshell racing seats contribute to a distinct cockpit experience. Customers have extensive customization options for both interior and exterior through Lamborghini’s Ad Personam bespoke-build program.
In terms of chassis and braking, the Fenomeno is the first street-legal Lamborghini to feature CCM-R brakes, which are next-generation carbon-ceramic discs providing increased friction and longevity. Lamborghini has also opted for manually adjustable suspension, replacing the Revuelto’s adaptive dampers. This decision saves weight and is a deliberate statement, aiming for a simpler, more old-school driving experience that allows owners to dial in track-specific setups or personalize on-road settings, though it is noted that average 'few-off' owners typically drive their ultra-rare Lamborghinis less than 1,000 miles per year.
The exclusivity of the Fenomeno is extreme: only 30 copies will be built, with one retained for the factory's museum and the remaining 29 available to customers. All units have already been sold, despite an estimated base price of $3.5 million, a significant premium over the Revuelto’s approximate $610,000 starting price. Ultimately, the Fenomeno's primary purpose is to deliver a phenomenal sound and a spectacular visual presence, solidifying its status as a quintessential bedroom poster car.
