Bad Bunny to Electrify World Stage as 2026 Super Bowl Halftime Headliner!

Puerto Rican megastar Bad Bunny is officially set to headline the 2026 Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show, an event scheduled for February 8, 2026, at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. This monumental announcement places one of the world's most influential artists at the center of one of its biggest cultural spectacles.
Expressing his profound emotions about the upcoming performance, Bad Bunny, whose birth name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, stated, “What I’m feeling goes beyond myself. It’s for those who came before me and ran countless yards so I could come in and score a touchdown… this is for my people, my culture and our history. Ve y dile a tu abuela, que seremos el HALFTIME SHOW DEL SUPER BOWL.” This will not be his first Super Bowl halftime experience, as he previously made a guest appearance during Shakira and Jennifer Lopez’s iconic set in 2020.
Bad Bunny’s selection comes after another incredibly successful year for the artist. In January, he released his sixth solo album, “Debí Tirar Más Fotos,” which not only topped the Billboard 200, becoming his fourth No. 1 on the chart, but also saw all 17 of its tracks land on the Billboard Hot 100, bringing his career total to over 100 Hot 100 hits. Following this, he embarked on an ambitious and highly successful 30-date residency in Puerto Rico, an event so significant it provided a substantial boost to the island’s economy and attracted numerous high-profile guests.
His performance continues the tradition of celebrated artists taking the Super Bowl stage, following Kendrick Lamar’s headlining show this past February, Usher (2024), Rihanna (2023), Dr. Dre and friends (2022), The Weeknd (2021), and Jennifer Lopez and Shakira (2020). Roc Nation, led by Jay-Z, has been responsible for booking the halftime show since a deal with the NFL in 2019, with Lamar’s 2025 performance setting a record as the most-watched of all time, drawing 133.5 million viewers.
Industry leaders have lauded Bad Bunny's appointment. Jay-Z remarked, “What Benito has done and continues to do for Puerto Rico is truly inspiring. We are honored to have him on the world’s biggest stage.” Jon Barker, Senior VP of Global Event Production for the NFL, commented, “Bad Bunny represents the global energy and cultural vibrancy that define today’s music scene. As one of the most influential and streamed artists in the world, his unique ability to bridge genres, languages and audiences makes him an exciting and natural choice to take the Super Bowl halftime stage.” Oliver Schusser, Apple VP of Music, Sports and Beats, added, “His music has not only broken records but has elevated Latin music to the center of pop culture and we are thrilled to once again partner with the NFL and Roc Nation to deliver this historic performance to millions of fans worldwide.”
Bad Bunny's career achievements are extensive and undeniable: four No. 1 albums, 113 Hot 100 hits (including 15 top 10s), three Grammys, and one No. 1 single, along with numerous groundbreaking firsts and records in both Spanish-language and global music. His collaborations span across artists like Cardi B, The Weeknd, Travis Scott, Dua Lipa, Ricky Martin, and J Balvin. Beyond music, he has ventured into acting with recent cameos in films such as “Happy Gilmore 2” and “Caught Stealing.” He is widely recognized as a pivotal force in bringing Spanish-language music to a prominent mainstream foothold in the United States.
The 2026 Super Bowl will be broadcast live on NBC. This marks the seventh consecutive year that Roc Nation will program the halftime show, executive producing alongside Jesse Collins, with production by DPS and direction by Hamish Hamilton. Roc Nation also serves as a strategic entertainment advisor for the show. Apple Music returns as the presenting sponsor for the fourth year, having first taken on the role in 2023 for Rihanna’s performance.
