The nanny realised all was not well and raised the alarm by screaming for help, but assistance came too late as baby Amanda had already been pushed off the balcony.

Some of the neighbours who rushed to the scene upon hearing the househelp’s screams apprehended the suspect and called the Kiamumbi police, who subsequently arrested him.

The property manager noted that the case was transferred to Kahawa West Police Station, which later involved the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), who commenced investigations into the matter.

“The Officer Commanding Station (OCS) responded swiftly, and the suspect was taken into custody. Due to injuries he sustained, the police took him to Kiambu Hospital for treatment,” read a statement from the Jacaranda property manager.

The young girl was also rushed to Kenyatta University Teaching and Referral Hospital for treatment, but unfortunately, succumbed to her injuries.

I am so sorry for your loss, Ann. May God give you peace. It’s painful, and small caskets are the heaviest to carry. May God protect our kids in our absence,” he shared.
