Amanda Mutheu was allegedly thrown from the balcony of their house by her uncle, who was reportedly heavily intoxicated.
He had visited the home when a commotion broke out, ultimately leading to the tragic incident.
Mutheu's nanny sensed danger and began screaming for help before the man committed the unthinkable.
Footage shows neighbours also shouting desperately, pleading with the suspect not to throw the five-year-old girl.
Their piercing cries, however, fell on deaf ears as the uncle pushed the little girl off the balcony.
Eyewitnesses could barely believe the horrific scene as the helpless Amanda fell to the ground.
They rushed to the scene and quickly took the seriously injured girl to Kenyatta University Teaching and Referral Hospital.
Sadly, it was too late—Amanda succumbed to her injuries, leaving many heartbroken.
The devastating news sparked sorrow and outrage online, with social media users flooding comment sections to express their grief:
Lucy Mwangi:
"No amount of alcohol can drive someone to such an act. When you're too drunk, you just get sleepy. If it was really that late, he had planned to kill Amanda!"
Rahab Wanjiku Wanjiku:
"Nowadays, blood is no longer thicker than water. Even your own family can betray you and send you to the grave. May Almighty God protect and cover us with His holy blood."
Kate Njue:
"My heart is so fragile when it comes to kids. I don’t think I can overcome this. Ann, I don’t even know what to say to you."
Bobo Refined:
"I’ve not yet found the right words. I don’t think I can ever forgive that person. 😭😭😭 I try to imagine being in her shoes, but I can't... It’s unbearably painful. That family will need God even after the burial."
Nduta Waa Karuri:
"Why are neighbours telling different stories? Have you seen the circulating video? It’s the second floor, not the fifth. Are you aware the same child had gone missing in March? There’s something fishy here. May Amanda’s soul not rest in peace—may it haunt her killer forever. In that video, the man even climbs down to confirm the child is dead."
