Bollywood stars Ananya Panday, Siddhant Chaturvedi, and Raghav Juyal have come to the defense of actor Babil Khan after a tearful video, in which he called Bollywood “fake,” went viral. The emotional clip, which prompted Babil to deactivate his Instagram account briefly, was clarified by his family as a misunderstood expression of admiration for his peers, not criticism.

In the now-deleted video, Babil, son of the late Irrfan Khan, appeared visibly upset, naming actors like Ananya Panday, Shanaya Kapoor, Siddhant Chaturvedi, Raghav Juyal, Adarsh Gourav, Arjun Kapoor, and singer Arijit Singh while decrying the industry’s inauthenticity. Many misinterpreted his words as a personal attack, leading to rampant online gossip. However, a statement from Babil’s team and family clarified that he was praising these individuals for their “authenticity, passion, and efforts to restore credibility” in Indian cinema, urging the public to consider the full context.

Ananya Panday showed her support by resharing Babil’s Instagram story, writing, “Only love and good energy for you, Babil, always in ur corner,” accompanied by heartfelt emojis. Her gesture followed a cryptic Instagram post quoting Harry Potter’s Hagrid : “What’s comin’ will come and we’ll meet it when it does,” which some saw as a subtle nod to the brewing controversy.

Siddhant Chaturvedi took a more direct approach, slamming trolls and gossip portals for twisting Babil’s vulnerability into drama. Siddhant wrote, “This one’s personal. We love to hate and hate to love, is this what we’ve come to? Stop looking for drama here. All of us are working hard to bring drama to you on your screens.”

Raghav Juyal called him “family,” writing, “BABİL is my family and I am always with him no matter what,” alongside the official statement from Babil’s team.
